WHAT IS BRAIN GYM®?

Brain Gym® (also known as Educational Kinesiology) is a series of enjoyable, targeted movements specially designed to enhance learning and to reduce stresses associated with learning. The movements can bring about dramatic improvements in concentration, reading, writing, coordination, organisation and more.

After doing the exercises regularly, my clients/parents report changes in confidence, physical coordination and interpersonal relationships, plus greater ease in learning and understanding academic subjects.

The Brain Gym® movements are excellent at helping children to integrate fine-motor and large-motor skills. Movement has always been a key to the natural development of a child.

Who does Brain Gym® help?

Brain Gym® helps everyone, but is particularly beneficial to those who want:

  • More concentration
  • Better memory
  • Improved coordination and physical abilities
  • Higher literacy skills
  • Longer attention span
  • Increased articulation

For children it can help:

  • Dyslexia, dyspraxia, learning difficulties
  • Performance in exams
  • Learning to ride a bicycle
  • Sporting abilities

At my Berkhamsted practice I have been seeing children and adults on an individual basis since 2001, including those with dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD and on the Autistic Spectrum. At the initial consultation, I assess :

  • balance and coordination
  • visual and auditory processing
  • short term memory

The initial consultation takes approximately 1½ hours = this allows me to identify specific areas you or your child would like to work on. Further consultations last approximately 1 hour.

Each consultation costs £40 per hour. The initial consultation costs up to £60.

In between consultations you, or your child, will have an individual programme to do at home for a few minutes each day for a period of 3-4 weeks.
